LMC STOMP Class 7 Recap + Final Ode to Oscar Edit + JAMS
Hey class, THE Blog Again, Again!: (http://theinfinitemusic.posterous.com) Read it, love it, be it. Ode to Oscar Final Edited: This is really fun and is really starting to gel. The Swing Jam: This is more complex and interesting - really amazing to see you guys improvising on your own - we'll incorporate this kind of thing into the performance.
Bonus Jam FAST from the end!:
NOTE: Lobdell on Thursday for final rehearsal! Quick points that we went over today:
- Tempo: we covered this a bit today. You guys are doing really well. Keep that foot tapping to the beat! And watch each other always.- Feeling the groove: head nodding in half time really works and will help you stay in the beat. - Improvisational memory: toward the end we went ahead and did sections A and B of improv - I'll have notecards next time. - Keeping it smooth, anticipating the next piece.- A few changes on D - see the photo. We'll practice this a few times next time, but it should be pretty quick. And lastly, next time I'll have a layout for our performance:What to expect:
Ode to Oscar1st Improv Jam (I cue what you play)The Wheel JamMemory A + B Jam (we'll go over this) Music GameFast Jam (fun, but faster) - see above+ a few crazy ideas that we can try next time... if there's time (ie. trash can lids and drumset)
The homefun that we have before Thursday is as follows:
1) Finish memorizing the piece!
2) Get your Trash themed Outfits ready for the performance:NEXT CLASS DETAILS:
When: Thursday 815, Show up early for fun jamming :)
